This is from a prompt writing exercise. The assignment was to write a sales pitch and use the following phrases:-
Compare for yourself, the sky’s the limit, all the amenities, a golden opportunity, true potential
My Yellow duck
“Hello there, would you like to buy something? It’s really special. Yes, that’s it. My yellow duck. Nooo! don’t walk away. Come back. It’s really special. This is the best duck ever. Why is it the best? Let me tell you. Well, first thing is, I won it with my super catcher skills at the mall. I even won one for my younger brother. Maybe you can buy that one too. But first about my yellow dick.
Here look, feel it. It is not like anything you have seen. Come, compare for yourself. See how soft it is. How bright yellow its body is. And the splash of brown on its hat. It is like it is made of chocolate. The hat sits quite high on the head so somehow when you squeeze it, you hear a loud squeak You want to try? There – wasn’t that fun?
What else can you do with it? Really, the sky’s the limit. When I was in the bathroom earlier this duck was a monkey climbing the rope that was the shower pipe. Earlier in the afternoon, it was a ship sailing in the water with some orca whales. Did you know that a blue whale’s heart is as big as a car? And did you know the big tail of the whale propels it down into the water to eat its prey? Like this. Yeah, all the way down. See I told you the duck was magical.
Duck can also play with the frogs from the birthday party goodie bag we just got. Jump, Jump, it goes with the pink and blue frogs. Oops, it still had some water in it. Now there is water in the living room. The water is an ocean. Actually, no, it is a spa. Oh, I know about spas. Eva from my class went to one with her mom. It had all the amenities she said. And do you know Eva runs the fastest in my class?
Did you know that a duck can’t fly too fast? A falcon, on the other hand, flies at 240 miles per hour. Daddy checked it for us on Google. The duck is now a falcon. He swoops in to eat his prey which will be my little brother. The prey is a mouse. A baby mouse. And we will swoosh through the house. Yellow duck and I and the little mouse will run. Actually, you don’t want the duck, right? It’s ok. You missed a golden opportunity. Too bad. Maybe I don’t want to sell it anymore. I know the true P-O-T-E-N-T-I-A-L. It can be everything I want it to be.
No, I can’t give it to you. Nope. Changed my mind. It’s all mine. I know it is bedtime. I am coming to bed with my yellow duck. He is turning into my pillow now.
Good night to you too. Good night sleep tight, don’t let the ducks fight.”
